JACKSON, Miss. (AP) - Jackie Lett, president of the Mississippi Association of Broadcasters, is retiring after leading the trade group for 30 years.

Lett has headed the association that serves the state’s television and radio stations since 1984. MAB was founded in 1941.

Karla Hooten has been named the association’s incoming president. She joined MAB in 2007 as executive assistant, and has also served as manager of business development.

Hooten will begin as president on March 1, at which time Lett will serve as a consultant until May 29.
