GASTONIA, N.C. (AP) - A Mount Holly man has been indicted on charges of killing his live-in girlfriend and her teenage son in Gaston County earlier this month.

The Gaston Gazette reported (https://bit.ly/1z5nwd6) that 40-year-old Peter James Rivers has been indicted on two counts of first-degree murder.

Rivers is accused of killing 38-year-old Bridgette Berry and her 17-year-old son Treyvon on Feb. 5. Their bodies were found Feb. 9. Police say their home had been set on fire and their bodies were burned.

Rivers was picked up in Georgia on unrelated drug charges. It was not clear if he has an attorney.

He’s being held in the Gaston County jail.
