MINDEN, Nev. (AP) - A 23-year-old Douglas County man accused of killing his infant daughter has been ordered to appear at a preliminary hearing on March 13.

Trent Getty has pleaded not guilty to first-degree murder in the death of 2-month-old daughter Ava Getty last month.

The (Gardnerville) Record Courier reports (https://tinyurl.com/m94g3p7) that his public defender, Maria Pence, waived his appearance earlier this week in East Fork Justice Court in Minden.

Police say the girl was unresponsive when Getty brought her to Carson Valley Medical Center on Jan. 7. Getty has been in custody since Jan. 10, when he was arrested at a bus station in Sacramento and extradited back to Nevada.
