NEWARK, N.J. (AP) - Officials in northern New Jersey say they are investigating the shooting death of a man in Newark.

Essex County prosecutors said Friday that 23-year-old Ramel McGrady, of East Orange, died Thursday of a gunshot wound.

Newark Police responded to a call of a shooting about 6 p.m. on Thursday and McGrady was then transported to University Hospital where he died.

Officials say police found another victim just blocks away but he was taken to the hospital, treated and released.

Officials say they are investigating and that the motive was unclear.

No arrests have been made.
