SHREVEPORT, La. (AP) - Shreveport Mayor Ollie Tyler has named Scott Wolverton as the city’s next fire chief.

Tyler made the announcement Friday morning.

Wolverton has served for 22 years with the Shreveport Fire Department.

He was most recently the chief of special operations and safety.

Wolverton replaces Craig Mulford, who was fired last September amid controversy.

He was accused of mishandling an internal investigation into allegations firefighters at Station (asterisk) had hired a prostitute for an intellectually disabled man.
