BROWNINGTON, Vt. (AP) - The Orleans County snowmobile clubs have banded together to offer a $1,000 reward in hopes of finding the person or people responsible for vandalizing a trail groomer that was parked in Brownington while awaiting repairs.
The trail grooming machine belonging to the Orleans SnowStormers Club’s was damaged Feb. 1 when it was parked on a Vermont Snow Travelers Association trail overnight near the Old Stone House Museum in Brownington.
The next day club members arrived to find the groomer had been shot at and extensively damaged: Windows were smashed and electronic components were missing.
Roger Gosselin of the Orleans County Snowmobile Association tells the Caledonian Record (https://bit.ly/17joYlE ) the clubs hope the reward will produce tips that the state police can use to find the people responsible for the vandalism.
