PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) - The University of Oregon and men’s basketball coach Dana Altman have filed a rebuttal denying claims in a lawsuit filed by a woman who alleged that three players sexually assaulted her.

The three were kicked off the team and barred from the campus, but prosecutors said there was insufficient evidence to file charges.

The woman sued in federal court in January, saying Altman knew when he recruited one of the players, Brandon Austin, that he had been suspended from Providence College in Rhode Island because of allegations of sexual misconduct.

Her suit cited a statement from his mother

KGW-TV reports (https://bit.ly/1CWMMGZ) the response from the school and coach contains a statement from the player’s mother that she didn’t tell the coaches her son had been accused.
