JUNEAU, Alaska (AP) - Gov. Bill Walker is heading to Washington, D.C. for a meeting of the National Governors Association.

He is scheduled to arrive on Friday and to leave on Monday.

The association, in a release, said the meeting will provide an opportunity for governors to discuss issues affecting their states. The agenda for the gathering includes meetings with President Barack Obama and Vice President Joe Biden.

Walker and Alaska legislative leaders have said they hope to build support among other states in fighting federal overreach.
