LOS ANGELES (AP) - A man who drove wildly in circles on Hollywood Boulevard was arrested after later claiming that there explosives in his car.

KABC-TV (https://bit.ly/1z5nj9D) aired video of the black Volkswagen Jetta careening into oncoming lanes several times Thursday afternoon as pedestrians shouted at the driver.

Responding Los Angeles police officers found the car parked in a nearby strip mall. The driver, a man in his 30s, told them the trunk contained explosives.

Several streets were shut down as police investigators. A bomb squad detonated its own charge and concluded there was no explosive device in the car.

The man, whose name was not released, was arrested on suspicion of falsely reporting a bomb threat.
