ERIE TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) - A 61-year-old man is jailed after authorities say he fired shots following a minor traffic crash in Monroe County.

The sheriff’s department says the man told investigators that he fired the three shots from a pistol on Monday evening in an attempt to get the attention of the other driver. The vehicles, which were heading in opposite directions, bumped mirrors in Erie Township.

Witnesses reported that the man fired at the other vehicle, which wasn’t struck by the bullets. No one was injured. Charges were pending Tuesday morning.
