DEVILS LAKE, N.D. (AP) - Town leaders in Devils Lake have agreed to expand the city’s boundaries by 356 acres for a new oil refinery.

KZZY-FM reports city commissioners voted 4-0 Monday evening during a packed meeting to annex the land on the northwest part of the city.

A subsidiary of Eagles Ledge Energy Ltd. wants to build the $200 million project that would process 20-thousand barrels of diesel fuel a day.

The annexation is contingent on the company getting all the needed permits and going ahead with the project.

One of the commissioners was absent.
