SILVER SPRING, Md. (AP) - A massive tree crashed into a suburban Washington, D.C. home as winds reached 45 mph.

Chris Fisher says he called 911 Monday night after seeing the tree swaying. He told a dispatcher the tree was going to fall on his house any second.

Before he hung up the phone, the tree did just that, taking down power lines and crushing the left side of his two-story house in Silver Spring, Maryland.

Fisher was in the opposite end of the house and wasn’t hurt. Firefighters arrived soon after and put out a small fire sparked by the power lines.

Fisher says he’s lucky he wasn’t hurt by the tree, which is so big it spans his whole front yard.

He says he hopes to have the tree removed Tuesday.
