BOSTON (AP) - Gov. Charlie Baker says he’s looking forward to meeting over the next few months with Boston officials and supporters of bringing the 2024 Summer Olympics to Massachusetts.

Democratic legislative leaders have said they would like to see Olympic activities and venues spread across the state.

Senate President Stanley Rosenberg, an Amherst Democrat, said he’d love to see some of the proposed Olympics events take place in western Massachusetts.

House Speaker Robert DeLeo, a Winthrop Democrat, has also said he’d like to see the Olympics take on a more statewide focus.

Baker said after meeting with Rosenberg and DeLeo on Monday that he doesn’t have enough information to weigh in on the geographic scope of the proposed games.

Baker described himself as “a practical guy” who would like to do what works.
