BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) - LSU volleyball coach Fran Flory has announced the hiring of Ethan Pheister as an assistant coach.

Flory says Pheister, the former Ball State team captain, began his duties Monday. He comes to the Tigers after a stint as coach at Duquesne University, helping the Dukes to consecutive winning seasons.

He primarily has worked with setters, drawing from experience that made him a three-time all-conference selection and two time academic all-conference pick. By the time his collegiate career was over, his 4,103 assists ranked fourth all-time at Ball State, as his 11.21 assist per set average was fifth all-time.

Flory says Pheister is a great addition to the staff and will have a huge impact on the program.
