MOSS POINT, Miss. (AP) - Moss Point has canceled its Carnival parade that had been scheduled for 3 p.m. Saturday.

Chadwick Smith, Moss Point Parks & Recreation superintendent, tells The Sun Herald (https://bit.ly/1BRA1uo ) only 11 people had registered.

The city had planned to have a water parade this year to take place at 5:30 p.m. right after the street parade, but that, too, has been canceled.

Smith said he hopes to get a jump on it next year, and he is hopeful more people and businesses will get involved.
