NEWARK, N.J. (AP) - The death of a man found unresponsive in his Newark home last weekend has been ruled a homicide.

Essex County prosecutors told NJ.com (https://bit.ly/1EEqE7B) that 46-year-old Mark Holley died from blunt force trauma and strangulation. He was found late Sunday afternoon by his daughter and her boyfriend, who had gone to his home after he failed to answer repeated telephone calls.

When the couple arrived at the home, they found Holley on the living room floor, with blood visible all around him. They immediately called police, and Holley was pronounced dead at the scene a short time later.

Investigators also determined that a car registered to Holley’s daughter was stolen from his home.

No arrests have been made.

A motive for the attack remains under investigation.
