ST. LOUIS (AP) - A consultant whose past projects include baseball’s Busch Stadium and Kauffman Stadium in Kansas City has been hired to help oversee a proposed riverfront football stadium in St. Louis.

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch (bit.ly/1ECYWb3 ) reports that John Loyd of Orange Beach, Alabama, will join the effort to keep the Rams in St. Louis as team owner Stan Kroenke considers returning the NFL team to Los Angeles.

Loyd is the first hire since the St. Louis Regional Convention and Sports Complex Authority approved such expenses last week.

He oversaw design and construction of Busch Stadium, which opened in 2006 in downtown St. Louis. Loyd also worked on baseball stadium projects in Cleveland, Miami and Pittsburgh and the renovation of Everbank Field, home of the NFL’s Jacksonville Jaguars.
