BURLINGTON, Vt. (AP) - A new study says the dairy industry brings $2.2 billion in economic activity to Vermont each year, and that dairy accounts for more than 70 percent of the state’s agricultural sales.

The study was funded by the Vermont Dairy Promotion council. It’s been 10 years since such a report has been done.

Diane Bothfeld, deputy secretary of agriculture, tells WCAX-TV (https://bit.ly/1LHCyiS) the study says the industry brings in about $3 million a day to the state.
