RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) - There’s still wintry weather in the mountains of western North Carolina.

The National Weather Service has a winter weather advisory in effect until 10 a.m. Tuesday in the mountains along the North Carolina-Tennessee state line, as well as the Asheville area.

Forecasters say snow has essentially stopped. But they warn of the dangers of black ice on the roads.

Schools were closed in Watauga County.

It was 22 degrees in Asheville early Tuesday.

Duke Energy reports only about 100 customers without service in North Carolina, most in Guilford County.
