SAN ANGELO, Texas (AP) - A woman inside a West Texas bar has died after being shot in gunfire from outside of the building.

San Angelo police say nobody has been arrested in the weekend shooting at Eva’s Place. Police on Tuesday didn’t immediately provide additional information on possible suspects in the death of 52-year-old Bertha Vasquez of San Angelo.

Officer Tracy Gonzalez says police on Sunday night responded to reports of gunfire in a commercial area. Officers around the same time were notified that a woman was shot at a bar.

Police later determined several rounds were fired from the street, toward the bar, in an apparent drive-by shooting. One bullet penetrated the building and hit Vasquez. She died at a San Angelo hospital. Nobody else was hurt.

Police are seeking a motive.
