JUNEAU, Alaska (AP) - Two deputy commissioners have been appointed to the state Department of Transportation and Public Facilities.

Both Steven Hatter and Mike Neussl previously served as deputy commissioners in the department.

Spokesman Jeremy Woodrow says Neussl will step back into the role he held between 2011 and 2012, as deputy commissioner for marine operations.

Woodrow says Hatter’s role is still being defined. Hatter served as deputy commissioner of aviation from 2011 to 2014, a role that is currently filled.

Neussl started on Monday; Hatter is expected to start work in mid-February.
