GULFPORT, Miss. (AP) - Felony child abuse charges have been filed against three people after police found two children locked in dog kennels at a Gulfport home.

Gulfport police spokesman Sgt. Damon McDaniel says officers found the children while serving a search warrant in an unrelated case at the home on Jan. 28. Officers arrested Patrick Braddock at the time.

Officers say the Department of Human Services took custody of the children.

McDaniel says the children were younger than 10. No other details were released.

The mother, Brittany Kay Braddock, and the grandmother, Pamela Diane Davis, were present during the initial search on Jan. 28 but weren’t arrested until Tuesday.

Each is charged with two counts of felony child abuse.

They are being held in the Harrison County jail.
