BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) - A company that provides mental health care service throughout Alabama has announced plans to end service next week.

A statement on Alabama Psychiatric Services’ website says the company is ending service on Feb. 13, 2015.

Officials say the company is shutting down because of a decline in funding and a change in how it provides behavioral health services. Officials say the company will work to help patients transition to other service providers.

The company operates clinics in Birmingham, Cullman, Decatur, Dothan, Fairhope, Florence, Madison, Mobile, Montgomery and Tuscaloosa.
