BEDFORD, Va. (AP) - The U.S. Army Reserve plans to name a new center in Bedford in honor of a local veteran who died in combat in Iraq or Afghanistan.

The Army Reserve is taking names for the center. Names from previous conflicts will be accepted but the reserve would like to focus on recent reservists and one of the recent conflicts.

Jody Martin with the 751st Quartermaster Company tells The News & Advance (https://bit.ly/1z9uoWw ) that it’s an opportunity to recognize someone who made the ultimate sacrifice for their country.

The center will house reservists from the 751st Quartermaster Company and the 639th Transportation Company one weekend a month.
