BOTHELL, Wash. (AP) - A Bothell police officer is accused of having sex with a girl she met while serving as a resource officer at Bothell High School.

Dione Thompson was charged last week with sexual misconduct with a minor. Court papers say she had sexual conduct with the 17-year-old in a patrol car at the Bothell library and outside a fast-food restaurant and that the student moved in with her for a time. The relationship ended four years ago.

Thompson’s lawyer, David Allen, told the seattlepi.com (https://bit.ly/1Kc1YDz) she is innocent and will strongly contest the false allegations.

Thompson is 45 and has been with Bothell police since 1998. Now a detective, she’s responsible for sex offender notifications.
