BEAR, Del. (AP) - A Delaware teen is in serious condition after being hit by a car in New Castle County.

Delaware State Police says the car hit the 14-year-old boy in the 800 block of Pulaski Highway in Bear just before 7 p.m. Tuesday. Paramedics say he was rushed to the hospital in critical condition, and police say he’s now in serious condition.

Police say the teen was not in a designated crosswalk when he was hit and that it was dark outside.

The driver who hit the teen stayed at the scene. He and his three passengers all had been wearing seat belts and weren’t hurt. No charges have been filed, and the crash remains under investigation.
