NATCHEZ, Miss. (AP) - Adams County supervisors have signed on a $655,000 project for rail improvements on the former International Paper site.

The Natchez Democrat reports (https://bit.ly/1x65x59 ) the work on 7,200feet of track will put the IP property back online for rail service.

The county will provide the land, easement improvements and the rail infrastructure already in place.

Local officials have declined to discuss what industry might be locating at the IP site.

Natchez Inc. Executive Director Chandler Russ says an announcement will be made Feb. 10.

The Mississippi Development Authority has provided grant money for the rail work.

Officials say the unnamed company will be responsible for maintaining the rail line from the switch to the warehouse. The company has leased the warehouse from the county with plans to buy it later.
