CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) - The West Virginia Commission on the Arts and the West Virginia Division of Culture and History have awarded more than $32,000 in grants to nine artists and five organizations.

The grants are through two programs.

The Professional Development for Individual Artists program provides professional and emerging artists with grants to expand or improve their work.

The EZ Arts Access program provides support for small communities and organizations with small budgets.

Funds for both grant programs are provided by the West Virginia Legislature and the National Endowment for the Arts.

On the community level, the Greenbrier Valley Chorale, the Taylor County Arts Council and the Tug Valley Arts Council were awarded grants.
