WASHINGTON (AP) - Joe McDonald had 19 points Friday night and scored a buzzer-beating putback in overtime to lift George Washington over Dayton 65-64.

Dayton’s Dyshawn Pierre blocked Kethan Savage’s driving attempt in the lane, but McDonald grabbed the rejected shot out of the air and banked it in off the glass with less than a second left.

George Washington (17-6, 7-3 Atlantic 10) conceded Dayton’s first overtime lead with 12.9 seconds left when Kyle Davis hit a 3-pointer to make it 64-63.

The Flyers (17-5, 7-3) scored five straight to get within 62-61 and Savage made 1 of 2 free throws with 27.6 seconds to put GW up by two.

Patricio Garino added 13 points and Kevin Larsen 11 for the Colonials.

Jordan Sibert capped the scoring in regulation at 56-all on a basket with 42 seconds left. Sibert had 17 points to lead four Flyers in double figures.
