NORTH MIAMI BEACH, Fla. (AP) - Authorities say a North Miami Beach police officer was shot while serving a warrant.

Police say Officer Lino Diaz was shot in the arm and in the leg Friday morning and was scheduled for surgery at Jackson Memorial Hospital. The injuries were not considered life-threatening.

Authorities say Diaz had been serving a search warrant as part of a joint federal investigation into unemployment fraud when he came under fire. No other officers were injured.

Police say a man and a woman were taken into custody after a standoff at the home.

The Miami Herald (https://goo.gl/yHClJb ) reports that authorities weren’t immediately naming the suspects.
