OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - Oklahoma City police shot and killed a robbery suspect after he allegedly pulled a gun and fired, hitting an officer in the leg.

A police spokesman said officers late Friday were looking for a robbery suspect in South Oklahoma City and saw him sitting in the passenger seat of a car in the driveway of a house.

When they approached, the man allegedly reached down for a gun and fired, hitting a policeman in the leg.

Police spokesman Cpt. Paco Balderrama said the officers returned fire, killing the alleged suspect.

The unidentified injured officer was taken to hospital. The name of the man killed was not immediately released.
