SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) - Police say a Sioux Falls man who allegedly tried to solicit sex with a 16-year-old girl called officers to report the girl had taken his money.

Twenty-eight-year-old Nasir Ali was indicted Wednesday on charges of contributing to the abuse or neglect of a minor and procuring or promoting prostitution.

The Argus Leader reports that (https://argusne.ws/1FfDXc5 ) Ali called police on Dec. 3 after two men showed up at his home. Ali told police he thought the girl who took his money had sent the men.

Police say Ali showed officers Facebook messages between him and the teen in which he offered her money for sex. He said the girl showed up at his home, took the money and left.

Ali’s public defender didn’t immediately return a request for comment.
