KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Tennessee has announced it will play a 2018 home game against East Tennessee State, a school that is relaunching its football program this season.

Under terms of the contract released Friday by Tennessee, ETSU will receive $500,000 for playing the game at Neyland Stadium. The game is scheduled for Sept. 8, 2018.

ETSU announced in 2013 it was bringing back a football program it had dropped for financial reasons in 2003. The Bucs will usher in this new era Sept. 3 when they face Kennesaw State. ETSU is coached by Carl Torbush, who coached North Carolina from 1998-2000.
