WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (AP) - Police in Winston-Salem have arrested two juveniles who they say were throwing objects off a bridge over Interstate 40.

A police report said officers responded to the bridge and spotted two people with large sticks in their hands. While the officers were there, a motorist stopped to tell them that something hit the roof of his car.

According to police, one of the juveniles admitted to targeting cars and hitting the motorist’s car with a bottle. The police said the juveniles also admitted they were about to throw the sticks at other cars when police confronted them.

The two were released to the custody of their patents. They’re charged with malicious injury to property.

Last month, police identified five juveniles who they said threw rocks at motorists on U.S. 52.
