RENO, Nev. (AP) - School officials in Washoe County say three people have been arrested for carrying firearms near campuses.

Washoe County School District officials said Monday that an adult and two minors ages 15 and 16 were arrested in two separate incidents Friday.

Officials at Sparks Middle School and Agnes Risley Elementary School put their campuses on lockdown after reports that a minor was seen carrying a gun across the street. In another incident, 20-year-old Javoni Guerrero and a minor were found carrying firearms several blocks away from Wooster High School.

Washoe County School District police officers made the arrests. Police say Guerrero was also charged with possession of a controlled substance and paraphernalia.

District officials say there is no evidence any of the weapons were carried on the school campuses.
