PUEBLO, Colo. (AP) - Investigators are trying to identify a body that was pulled from the Arkansas River in Pueblo.

The Pueblo Chieftain reports (https://bit.ly/193XWzV ) the man’s body was found in the river under the Fourth Street bridge Monday afternoon.

Police Sgt. Eric Gonzales tells the Colorado Springs Gazette the initial report to police dispatch indicated the body was wrapped in some kind of black bag, but it only appeared that way because the body was so muddy.

Gonzales says a couple of men have been reported missing in the city, including one who went swimming and never resurfaced.
