HELENA, Mont. (AP) - A 54-year-old Elliston man died in a weekend snowmobiling accident in Powell County.

Anderson Stevenson Wilke Funeral Home says Lance Newman died early Saturday.

Coroner Lee Jewell told the Montana Standard that Newman was snowmobiling with three friends on Telegraph Creek above the Blackfoot River, west of Helena and north of Deer Lodge, when he rolled his snowmobile in extremely icy conditions. Newman died of blunt force trauma.

The accident was reported shortly after 4 a.m. Saturday.
