METTER, Ga. (AP) - State fire officials are investigating a Candler County house fire that claimed the resident’s life.

Glenn Allen, a spokesman for the state fire commissioner, says the manufactured home in Metter was destroyed by the blaze early Sunday morning.

Killed was 53-year-old Jeffrey Hagan.

Allen said an initial investigation found that the fire started in the living room area, and an exact cause remains under investigation.

Metter is about 60 miles northwest of Savannah.
