PHOENIX (AP) - A Phoenix man arrested after authorities discovered evidence of child pornography on his computer and cellphone has pleaded not guilty to sexual exploitation of a minor.

Christopher Madill entered his plea Monday. His next scheduled court appearance is a March 27 initial pretrial conference.

Federal authorities say investigators also discovered Madill had taken non-pornographic photos of a friend’s child that were posted online and used them on a foreign-based file-sharing website alongside unrelated pornographic images.

The discovery of the online photos depicting the prepubescent Arizona girl are what launched the investigation that led police to ultimately arrest the 32-year-old Madill on allegations that he separately possessed child pornography.

Authorities say Madill acquired the images of the girl through her mother’s online profile.
