SULPHUR, Okla. (AP) - Authorities say two police officers and a female suspect have been wounded in an exchange of gunfire after the woman barricaded herself for several hours inside a Sulphur, Oklahoma, business.

Capt. Paul Timmons of the Oklahoma Highway Patrol tells The Associated Press both officers were being treated for injuries not considered life-threatening. He had no information on the condition of the woman, who was taken to the hospital with multiple gunshot wounds.

Timmons says a hostage negotiator tried to talk to the woman after the standoff began around 3 p.m. Monday. Several officers responded, including the Sulphur officer and a Highway Patrol trooper who were hit by gunfire.

Timmons had no information about a possible motive, saying only that it started as a “domestic situation.”
