FARGO, N.D. (AP) - A West Fargo woman who pleaded guilty to negligent homicide in the death of her 4-day-old son has been ordered to spend about two months in jail.

Authorities say Reanne Pederson’s baby died a day after the 32-year-old woman fell asleep while breastfeeding him in June 2014. She told authorities she likely suffocated the boy.

Pederson pleaded guilty last November. KFGO radio reports (https://bit.ly/1DUka0P ) that during her sentencing Monday she told Judge Frank Racek she made a mistake and had a lapse in judgment. She snorted hydrocodone before breastfeeding, and admitted to smoking methamphetamine a few days before giving birth.

Racek sentenced Pederson to four months in jail and gave her credit for two months she spent in a drug treatment program.
