CANBY, Ore. (AP) - Oregon State Police say two people are dead after a head-on crash near Canby.

Lt. Josh Brooks says it appears that a Hyundai Accent sedan crossed the center line on Highway 99E on Monday morning and collided head-on with a tractor-trailer rig loaded with an asphalt roller.

The car’s driver died and a young female passenger suffered fatal injuries. She was flown to a Portland hospital, where she died.

The commercial truck driver was not hurt and is cooperating with the investigation.
