ANN ARBOR, Mich. (AP) - New Michigan football coach Jim Harbaugh says he’s retaining Greg Mattison from the staff of fired coach Brady Hoke.

Harbaugh announced Monday that Mattison will serve as the Wolverines’ defensive line coach.

Mattison was defensive coordinator for Michigan in 2011-2014. Before that, he spent three seasons with the NFL’s Baltimore Ravens as a defensive coach.

Mattison also has coached at the college level for Florida, Notre Dame, Texas A&M;, Navy, Western Michigan, Northwestern, Cornell and Illinois.
