DENVER (AP) - Police have arrested a 29-year-old man in connection with a double homicide at a public housing apartment complex in east Denver.

The Denver Post reported Monday (https://dpo.st/1xiEbIZ ) that Jamaal Marquiz Edwards is being held without bail on suspicion of two counts of first-degree murder in the deaths of 53-year-old John Shoeboot and 42-year-old James Brown III.

The slayings were reported early Wednesday morning at the Xenia Village Apartments, a complex run by the Colorado Coalition for the Homeless.

The Denver coroner’s office has completed autopsies on Shoeboot and Brown but has not said how they were killed.
