PIERRE, S.D. (AP) - A South Dakota Highway Patrol trooper wounded during a standoff near Kimball has been released from the hospital.

Sgt. John Koenig was shot by a rifle last week in the arm and the side when he responded to a report of a person threatening law enforcement officers.

The 28-year veteran of the patrol is stationed in Chamberlain.

Forty-two-year-old Donald London, of Kimball, and his father, 66-year-old Michael London, of Chamberlain, are charged with multiple felonies in connection with the standoff.
