PHILADELPHIA (AP) - Transportation officials have lifted speed restrictions put in place on northeastern Pennsylvania highways as a winter storm hit the region.

PennDOT had dropped the speed limit Monday on Interstates 80, 81, 84, and 380 in Lackawanna, Luzerne and Pike counties and Interstate 380 in Monroe County to 45 mph.

The National Weather Service issued a winter weather advisory for much of the state. Most places were seeing less than an inch of snow and sleet. Northern counties were expected to see up to 4 inches.
