PORT LAVACA, Texas (AP) - Flames tore through a sheet-metal shed behind a Port Lavaca game room, killing a woman and her three young children.

The dead were identified as 23-year-old Dulce Cumpean-Camacho, her 4-year-old son Zavier Camacho and her two daughters, 1-year-old Sierra Camacho and 3-month-old Faith Camacho.

The fire erupted about 4:30 a.m. Monday in the one-room shed behind Diamond Amusement Game Room. Calhoun County Sheriff George Aleman told The Victoria Advocate (https://bit.ly/1IFoJx7) that the father of the person who lives in the shed used a pickax to try to hack through the front door but couldn’t save the four.

Aleman’s deputies and the State Fire Marshal’s Office were seeking clues to what caused the fire.
