LAS VEGAS (AP) - The International Council of Shopping Centers will keep its annual retail convention called RECon in Las Vegas through at least 2019.

The group’s vice president and Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority officials are expected to announce the extended contract Tuesday morning at the tourism agency’s board meeting.

The group can also extend its stay an additional three years.

The show has been held in Las Vegas for more than 30 years and attracts about 34,000 attendees including retailers, local politicians and developers looking to broker deals for shopping centers.

The convention was already scheduled to return May 17-20 this year and in 2016 and 2017.

An ICSC representative and officials with the tourism agency are expected to talk about the event’s economic impact at a joint news conference.
