LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - The deputy director of the Arkansas Historic Preservation Program will be guest speaker at the next presentation of a series of luncheon presentations that focus on sustainable practices.

Patricia Blick will speak at the Putting Green to Work lunch series on Jan. 22 in Little Rock.

Blick’s organization was a finalist for the Arkansas Department of Environmental Quality’s 2014 Environmental Stewardship Award for its County Courthouse Restoration Grant Program.

Blick will discuss how the grant program contributes to environmental sustainability by promoting the continued use of existing buildings, which saves the energy required to tear down structures and keeps debris out of landfills. The program’s focus is on preserving not only the environment but also communities by revitalizing downtown areas.

Admission to the presentation is free, but registration is required.
