ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) - Authorities say a marked New Mexico State Police vehicle has been vandalized with spray paint.

The New Mexico State Police said Tuesday the vehicle was hit with an expletive while an officer was off duty. Police said the unit was parked at an Albuquerque apartment complex when it was defaced Sunday morning.

State Police Chief Pete Kassetas called the vandalism “disgusting” and said law enforcement officers are being singled out around the country as targets for violence.

No arrests have been made.
